TXT TO SRT CONVERTER / 002

Your text.
A subtitle starting point.

Turn one line of text into one subtitle cue, or use timestamps already in your text.

Plain text creates a timing draft. It cannot automatically align words to audio. After export, check every cue in your video editor.

Your SRT preview will appear here.
No upload. No account. Just your file.

01 / CHOOSE YOUR INPUT

Plain or timestamped

For plain text, put one subtitle on each line and choose its duration and the gap before the next cue. Blank lines are skipped. The first cue starts at zero.

02 / REVIEW YOUR DRAFT

Starts are only half the job

Timestamped mode accepts 00:12 text, [00:12.50] text and 01:02:03,500 text. Cues end at the next start; the last uses your duration setting. Equal starts group into one cue. Keep times chronological.

03 / CHECK WITH AUDIO

Preview, copy, download

Export a UTF-8 SRT file, import it into your editor and check synchronization with your recording. No audio analysis, transcription or automatic alignment happens here.

How are plain-text times calculated?

At a three-second duration with a half-second gap, your first line runs from 00:00:00,000 to 00:00:03,000; the next starts at 00:00:03,500. These intervals follow your settings, not speech speed.

What text can I use?

Paste or open UTF-8 text you have permission to process. Chinese and other Unicode text are preserved. Windows line breaks work. Files stay in this browser; the converter makes no API calls and uploads no content.

What needs manual cleanup?

Long lines stay intact and produce a warning, so split them for readable subtitles. Timestamped input needs a time and text on every non-empty line. Mixed or malformed timestamps, unsupported markup, damaged encoding and times outside the SRT range produce an error. Use up to 5,000 non-empty lines and text under 1 MB.

For LRC metadata, repeated timestamp tags or blank timed lines, use the LRC converter. This TXT tool accepts one start time per non-empty line.
