ABOUT THE WORKBENCH
One small job,
done transparently.
LRC Workbench is a focused utility for converting existing timed lyrics into subtitles. It is maintained by Jianming Duan, an independent tool builder. The product and conversion notes were prepared with AI assistance; they do not claim professional captioning certification or legal expertise.
Our approach
The converter works with text you provide. It makes the missing end-time rule visible, offers an editable final-line duration, and reports syntax it cannot interpret. There is no song catalogue, lyric scraper, account system or audio transcription service.
Editorial boundaries
The guide describes this tool’s actual behavior and uses original examples. Format references are linked where useful. We do not promise that all media players handle every subtitle edge case identically. Preview your output in the editor where you intend to use it.
How changes are checked
Conversion examples are checked against explicit expected SRT output, including fractional seconds, repeated timestamps, instrumental gaps and offset adjustments. A passing example does not establish compatibility with every editor. When reporting a mismatch, distinguish the source timing from the rule used to infer an end time. Changes should preserve that distinction rather than hide an ambiguous result behind a successful download message.
Corrections
If the tool produces an unexpected result, contact the maintainer with a small, non-sensitive example you have permission to share. Include the settings and the result you expected.
